Chronological History of New Life Church, Inc.

July 19-23, 1993

The vision and voice of God given/spoken to Reverend Roderick Mitchell regarding the birthing of the New Life Church.  What was spoken to him by God was confirmed by Bishop Nathaniel Holcomb, Pastor of the Christian House of Prayer, Copperas Cove/Killeen Texas.

January 19, 1994

As Jeremiah 33:3 says * *Call unto me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things that thou knowest not", so we did! Corporate prayer began in the conference room of the Comfort Inn in Cleveland, MS.  Bible study and prayer continued in the worship facility of the Grace New Testament Church of Cleveland, MS.

March 6, 1994

The first Sunday morning/evening worship service was held in the family life center of the Church of the Nazarene of Cleveland, MS.  We met there for 2 weeks and moved to 220 North Pearman Ave. (right next door to the Kidney Care Center).  There were 16 adults and several children to receive Reverend Mitchell as their pastor and became members of the New Life Church.  The church was also received as a covenant church in relationship with Covenant Connection International under the leadership of Bishop Nathaniel Holcomb.

October 1994

The numerical growth of The New Life Church had increased to 75 adults and several children.  The church purchased their first property located at 414 East End Street, Cleveland, MS.  The building was owned by The First Assembly of God.  This is where we have assembled to Worship the Lord in Praise, Prayer and the Proclamation of His Word.  (October 1994 * 2006).

June 1996

A second building was purchased 412 East End St., Cleveland, MS for the purpose of serving the community and surrounding areas with outreach ministry.  This building, The Exodus Center for Life, houses several programs.  The New Life Counseling Center, The Perfected Praise Childcare/Learning Center & After School  Program, The Exodus School of the Bible (Bachelor’s & Master’s) Program, The General Education Development (G.E.D.) & Adult Literacy Program, The Mississippi Women’s Economic, Entrepreneurial & Employment Training Program, The Male/Father Initiative, It’s Moses Time * Afterschool Tutorial Program and summer children and youth programs.

August 1997

The Perfected Praise Childcare and Learning Center was birthed.  Sister Mary B. Mitchell was appointed to serve as a Nationally Certified Director/Administrator over the Perfected Praise Childcare.

September 1997

The church had its very first mortgage burning service.  In 3 years, we paid off our first purchased property.

August 1998

Exodus School of the Bible is birthed.  Initially started as a Bachelor’s level Bible School, this program also operates a Master's Program with the Doctoral Program to be implemented in the very near future. From 2000-2006, seven classes have successfully completed the program with Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Biblical Studies.  Also, we paid in full for our vehicles for the Transportation Ministry within a two year time period.

March 1999

The church had its second mortgage burning service for the property purchased in June of 1996.

August 2000

Purchased 15 acres of commercial land on Highway 61 North in Renova, MS for the building of the new place of worship.
